The 6.75" Kicker CompRT subwoofer is perfect to replace the factory subwoofers that come in many new cars, or to add some bass to your exisiting system where you are limited on space. The small, 6.75" subwoofer has more power handling that traditional speakers and is specifically designed to play sub-bass frequencies, below 80 hz. The 2.75" mounting depth is very low profile for a subwoofer and the enclosure volume is minimal. This makes for a great, small-space bass solution that will deliver the performance you expect from a Kicker product, at an affordable price.
If you are running a single subwoofer, the dual 2 ohm voice coil can be wired to a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. Make sure you check your amplifier's power ratings to ensure that it is 1 ohm stable if you choose to go that route. If you are running a pair of these subwoofers, you can wire 2 of these subwoofers to a 2 ohm load as long. If you are planning to only run one of these subwoofers, we typically recommend that you go with the Kicker CompRT 6.75" subwoofer with dual 1 ohm voice coils. It will allow you to wire the amplifier to a 2 ohm load instead of a 1 ohm load. This is easier on the amplifier and will extend the life of your stereo system.
The Kicker CX400.1 amplifier is perfect for powering 2 subwoofers at 1 ohm, or a single subwoofer at 2 ohms. Just make sure to set your gains properly to make sure you do not over power and blow the sub.
